ASBUMI brings together Indonesia's South Sea Pearl cultivation companies, working with government, research bodies and the trade toward one end: that Indonesian pearls are known, and priced, for what they are.
What the association does
ASBUMI (the Indonesian Pearl Cultivation Association) is the home for pearl-farming businesses across Indonesia, focused on developing and preserving the South Sea Pearl.
The association was founded to advance the national pearl market. Working alongside government, industry players, and pearl advocates at home and abroad, it carries a vision to protect the sea and strengthen Indonesia’s pearl trade.
ASBUMI promotes Indonesian South Sea Pearls at international forums and expositions, drives a national quality benchmark through the ISSP grading and the IQPL label, and carries farmers' concerns into questions of marine spatial governance, permits and taxation.
